Manchester United winger Memphis Depay has emerged as a potential target for Everton. Ronald Koeman is very keen to on giving a chance to the Dutch player to prove his worth.
Depay was brought from PSV the last season in a much-hyped transfer but spent most of the time on the bench. The winger has been involved in only 20 minutes of Premier league this season. Kevin Mirallas and Gerard Deulofeu haven’t performed well so far and the former Southampton boss wants to use the winger’s potential.
Depay came off the bench in Holland’s 1-1 draw against Belgium. Koeman was present at the Ajax’s Amsterdam Arena to watch the 22-year-old play for his country.
Mourinho wouldn’t mind allowing the player to move to a different club as he already has a number of players in that position. Koeman admitted that he earlier tried to sign the player when he was at the helm of Southampton, “We tried to bring him to Southampton but he wanted to stay for one more year at PSV.
” When United went in for him this summer, we knew at Saints that we had no chance. When they come, we have no chance.”
