Antonio Conte is reportedly set his sight on Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Javier Pastore. The Argentine midfielder has been struggling to make it to the starting lineup as manager Unai Emery has a number of midfielders to choose from.
Pastore joined PSG from Italian side Palermo in 2011 and since then has been an integral part of PSG. He has racked up six appearances this season and recently came back from an injury. Manager Unai Emery is a bit confused with the player’s fitness as he has a knack of picking up knocks and has been preferring Thiago Motta, Blaise Matuidi and Marco Verratti in the midfield.
Antonio Conte is a vast admirer of the player since his Palermo days. The Italian recently switched to 3-4-3 and the formation has been declared a hit as they won their last three games, kept three clean sheets and scored nine goals.
Unai Emery also changed PSG’s system to 4-3-3 and the Pastore seems a misfit into this system. If Pastore does come to Chelsea he will likely play in the place of Nemanja Matic in the midfield.
The midfielder who has 27 caps for Argentina also a target for some Italian and Chinese clubs. PSG could cash in on the player who has a contract till 2019 if a suitable offer comes from The Blues.
