Chelsea winger Pedro has claimed that Antonio Conte is as good as Pep Guardiola. Conte took charge this season and except the loss to Arsenal and Liverpool, they are yet to lose a match in the Premier League and have won seven on the trot.
Conte is known for his defensive organisation and it has been reflecting in Chelsea’s performances as they have conceded only one goal in their last seven matches.
Conte has changed the whole system as he has been deploying a three-man defence consisting of Cesar Azpilicueta, David Luiz and Gary Cahill. Pedro has excelled under the Italian as he has already bagged three goals. Willian who had been Chelsea’s first choice until this season has been kept out by Pedro’s form.
Pedro said, “Yes. Antonio is a good coach. [He’s] A strong guy with good ideas of football with a strong character.
“He has a good mentality and has very good ideas. He likes to press high and for the team to be compact.
Pedro won a number of coveted trophies including the La Liga five times and the Uefa Champions League three times. Only Messi was involved in more goals for the club during that period.
“Of course Pep is a very good coach also and was very important in my career. I want to see him again on Saturday but this will be a difficult game for us
“I don’t know if Manchester City will win the League under Pep or whether we can stop him.”
