Chelsea are trying to influence a move for Inter Milan midfielder Geoffrey Kondogbia. The 23-year old had been frozen out by former coach Frank De Boer and also didn’t play in the last match under interim boss Stefano Vecchi.
Chelsea have been looking for a midfielder as a suitable back up to Nemanja Matic and N’Golo Kante. They boast a number of midfielders including Cesc Fabregas and John Obi Mikel but Fabregas hasn’t got a chance frequently and has been linked with a number of clubs while Mikel is yet to play his first game for them and is ready to bid goodbye in January if a good offer comes.
Kondogbia can also be used as a central defender and left back. He joined the Nerazzurri from Monaco last year and was regarded among one of the most promising midfielders in Europe but his limited game time made him very frustrated and he is ready to quit Inter if the situation doesn’t improve, “It’s normal that if the situation does not sort itself out, it would become difficult not to think about other things.”
