Mauricio Pochettino has confirmed that defender Toby Alderweireld will be unavailable against Chelsea.
The Belgian defender has been absent since he picked up an injury against West Bromwich Albion. Pochettino played Kevin Wimmer and Eric Dier at the heart of defence against Monaco which they lost 2-1.
The Argentine manager has a number of tough decisions to make as Danny Rose won’t be able to feature against the Blues as he is carrying a suspension. That means Eric Dier and Jen Vertonghen could again pair up at the heart of defence.
Alderweireld was supposed to play against West Ham United but missed that match. Ben Davies is also doubtful as he is nursing an injury. Pochettino has to find a solution to his defensive lapses as they will be facing a side who have scored 17 goals in their last six matches.
Spurs are currently unbeaten in the League with 24 points and will face a tough competition from the table toppers.
