Brendan Rodgers will be a happy man right now. Celtic are yet to be beaten in any domestic game since he took charge at Parkhead and are cruising to the title. The Hoops have a 10-point lead over their closest challengers Aberdeen with a vital game in hand. They have already established a monopoly in Scottish football in recent years and the way Rodgers is going, the dominance is only going to be more in the coming years.
Celtic’s summer signings have done a great job this season and have been pivotal in their drastic improvement. Let us take a look at how Celtic’s summer signings have fared so far.
Moussa Dembele – 9/10
The French wonderkid has been a sensation at Celtic Park since his summer move to Parkhead from Fulham on a free transfer. He has already replaced Leigh Griffiths as the first-choice striker at Parkhead which is a huge thing. The Scottish forward scored 40 goals in all competitions for the Hoops last season and replacing him is not at all a bread and butter task. 16 goals already from 24 games- Dembele gets a rating of 9 out of 10.
Scott Sinclair- 8/10
The reunion of Sinclair with Rodgers at Parkhead this summer has gone so well for the Hoops. The Englishman provides a regular goal threat from the left flank. He has 10 goals to his name this season from 20 games which is a brilliant return for a winger. The former Manchester City star gets a high rating of 9 out of 10.
Kolo Toure- 7/10
The Ivorian icon has shored up Celtic’s defence with his enormous experience. He was a regular for the Hoops in early stages of the season but after his errant display against Borussia Monchengladbach, he has been replaced by Simunovic in the starting XI. However, he has still done enough to get a rating of 7 out of 10.
Cristian Gamboa- 6/10
Has not really played much first-team role so far but whenever he got a chance to shine, he made the best use of it. The Costa Rican gets a decent rating of 6.
Dorus de Vries- 5/10
The Dutch custodian was brought in by Celtic this summer as Rodgers wanted a sweeper keeper who could replace Craig Gordon but the Dutchman has so far failed to do that.
Kristoffer Ajer- NA
The 18-year-old was actually signed by Ronny Deila in January but he moved to Parkhead this past summer. He has played just 30 minutes of first team football for the Hoops. He seems more like a future prospect.
