Conte’s Tactics
Post the debacle at the Emirates where Chelsea were humiliated by their arch rivals Arsenal, Antonio Conte has addressed his tactics and his altered tactics have yielded astonishing output. With the 3-4-3 system, Roman Abramovich’s team have struck gold as they registered their sixth straight win in the Premier League.
Importantly, they have not conceded a goal in their last five league outings. The Italian has indeed performed his job of stabilising and manning the backline which comprises of three men perfectly as the chances of them bagging the honours continue to rise.
No European Outings
Unlike most of their fellow title rivals, Chelsea do not have European outings to commit themselves, which implies that they are spared of the jam-packed schedule of football which takes a toll on the players and their performances. Injuries and fitness would not dent Chelsea’s pursuits the way they would for the likes of Manchester City, Arsenal or Spurs as they can channelise their focus and efforts towards the sole cherry which is up for grabs.
Proven Winners
Chelsea have serial winners and blockbuster names in their roster and there is no denying the fact that their winning mentality has been on the tray this season. Chelsea haven’t altered many personnel but they have indeed bought winners to inject the winning mentality and instil the confidence back into the team, which, apparently has been successfully done.
David Luiz and N’Golo Kanté had come to the club after league triumphs in France and England, respectively and the ones Chelsea forked out this season as their key men had already accomplished the task of winning the prestigious league. It was only a matter of time for them to reunite as a team and hit the ground running once again to reclaim supremacy.
