Celtic fans have every reason to be happy heading into the international break. What a manager they have got in Brendan Rodgers! Yet to be beaten in any domestic game this season, it looks like that the Hoops will once again march on to the title.
When Rodgers took the Celtic job from his predecessor Ronny Deila, the biggest challenge for him was to keep everyone happy in such a big squad. Rodgers bolstered the squad with quality players like Sinclair, Dembele, Toure and a few more and it was always on the cards that a number of players will struggle for game time this campaign.
Celtic should ideally ship out a few players in the upcoming winter transfer window who are not playing much at Parkhead. Here are three players who could be on their way out.
Nadir Ciftci
Ciftci is a player who is not so famous among the Celtic fans. We expected the Turk to be shown the exit door in the summer itself but the 24-year-old managed to stay at the club. However, he has struggled for playing time so far having made just two appearances for the Celts, both from the bench.
With strikers like Moussa Dembele and Leigh Griffiths ahead of him in the pecking order, the situation is unlikely to improve. He is still only 24 and has plenty of potential and a move away could help him fulfil all his promise.
Dedryck Boyata
Celtic fans will love the fact that Dedryck Boyata has not spent a single minute on the pitch wearing a Celtic kit this campaign. The Belgian had a dismal debut season at Parkhead last time out making errors after errors.
The 25-year-old is certainly not good enough for a team like Celtic who are looking make their dominance in Scottish football more intense in coming years. The Belgian should definitely be one of those players who should be on their way out of the club.
Gary Mackay-Steven
A quality winger who can play on either flank. It is Mackay-Steven’s bad luck that he is not playing for the hoops this campaign. The 26-year-old had a decent last season at Parkhead having scored six goals and set up 9 assists. He was supposed to be one of the key players for the Hoops under Rodgers but his injury just when the season started gave opportunities for Forrest and Roberts to climb up the pecking order ahead of him.
The Scot is back from injury quite some time back but has not played a single minute. With his quality and experience, the 26-year-old should not have a problem in finding suitors for himself.
