After starting their season in quite an invincible manner Manchester City has now dropped to the 3rd position in the Premier League after three frustrating draws against Everton, Middlesbrough and Southampton and one defeat to Tottenham Hotspur.
Pep Guardiola’s men went into the break with a draw against Middlesbrough. Being a star-studded team, there was obviously a number of first team players who had to go on international duty.
While some fared very poorly like Sergio Aguero and Pablo Zabaleta in their 3-0 loss to Brazil, there were others like David Silva, Ilkay Gundogan, Illeanacho and more who were good in the interlull.
David Silva
One of the best midfielders in the English Premier League at the moment, the Spaniard had another solid performance against Macedonia.
Although it was his through ball that led Aduriz to get the final nail in the coffin, his threat was visible since the beginning when his deflected delivery fell into the legs of Nolito for the first goal.
He created 1 assist and 3 more dangerous openings which could have made the score more humiliating. He had two successful takeons.
