It’s almost time for arguably the biggest game in world football. Barcelona will take on their arch-rivals Real Madrid in La Liga on Saturday in the 14th game-week. Real Madrid have been in a sublime form this season and are unbeaten across all competitions. Zinedine Zidane’s side sit comfortably at the top of La Liga with 33 points from 13 games whereas Barcelona are six points behind their rivals.
Winning this game will give the Los Blancos a huge advantage in their title bid but Barcelona winning this one will bring the title race back on track.
Real Madrid and Barcelona have both been highly successful over the years and what comes with success is rivalry and the dispute that who is the better of the two sides. Despite such a bitter rivalry between the two sides, there are some great players who crossed the divide. Let us take a look at three such players who were castigated at the time and are still hated by the club they left.
Luis Enrique
The current Barcelona manager is one of those iconic players who served both of the two Spanish heavyweights as a player. He was nothing short of a star player at Real Madrid but made a surprise move to Barcelona in 1996 with his contract expiry at Santiago Bernabeu. This made him a traitor in the eyes of the Real Madrid fans.
Lucho had plenty of success at both clubs but Real Madrid fans will still hate him for leaving them for Barcelona 20 years back. Now, he’s the manager and will be hated even more considering he still has a big say at Barcelona.
