Antonio Rudiger
Towering at 190 cm and armed with good pace, Rudiger is very much alike Luiz, who with his strong build and height could be a perfect option for any English Premier League club. He has already bagged 4 caps for his international team and looks a promising player in the defence. He has recently refused to rule out a Chelsea move in the upcoming transfer window.
He was also included in Low’s squad in the Euros but his stay was cut short by cruciate ligament injury. Many are of the opinion that Low favours the young central defender more than Jerome Boateng but the former Stuttgart man has had his injury problems in the recent past which have stopped him from progressing.
He is still at an early stage and would be needing much more game time before breaking into the squad, but his recovery pace and aerial prowess make him a serious threat from indirect set pieces will surely earn him a place in big clubs if he continues to develop. And who else other than Conte can help the player better?
Kostas Manolas
Various reports suggest that Chelsea, who have been keeping tabs on the Greek centre-back for a while, could make a move in January.
The 25-year old Greek defender was one of the several defenders linked with Chelsea last summer, but Manolas was unwilling to move out. Now with a rift in the current club in terms of his contract, there might be a chance for Antonio Conte to swoop in for the highly-rated defender.
Chelsea have to fend off competition from arch rivals Arsenal who have also been an old admirer of the centre-back. Manolas’ game reading is exceptional and way more mature than his age. He is very composed on the ball, aerially superb and tactically and technically sound.
His passing accuracy this season is 89% which is excellent for a central defender while he has won 2.5 aerial duels every game this season which proves that he is a force in the air. The Roma stopper has averaged 12 defensive actions every game this season, a figure that any manager in the world would love.
