Juventus defender Patrice Evra has congratulated Luis Suarez on winning the prestigious Golden Shoe award.
Evra and Suarez had a heated conversation during a match between Manchester United and Liverpool in 2011. The ex-Manchester United defender claimed that Suarez racially abused him. FA later investigated the incident and banned the Uruguayan forward for eight matches along with a fine of £40,000.
Evra posted a picture of Suarez on Instagram. He wrote, “In my Instagram there is only love and never hate!!!
“Luis, you’re a great player and the best No 9. Congratulations Luis @luissuarez9. I love this game !!! hahahaah.”
Suarez refused to shake a hand with the French defender later on a match. Suarez was again in the midst of controversy when he bit Italy defender Giorgio Chiellini during a match in the 2014 FIFA World Cup. He was later banned by FIFA for four months and nine matches.
The striker who scored 59 goals for The Catalans has beaten Lionel Messi and Christiano Ronaldo to achieve this feat.
