Tottenham survived a late Bournemouth scare to keep the score level at 0-0 and take a point away from their encounter at the Vitality stadium. Bournemouth started the game really well, pressurizing Tottenham in their own half but Tottenham grew into the game and started the second half pretty well, but were outplayed in the final few minutes by the home side. Both sides will be disappointed to have taken a point from this after an entertaining clash as both clubs played for all three points. Below are Tottenham’s individual player ratings:
Hugo Lloris:
Rating: 8
The Frenchman made a decent save in the first half as he tipped the ball onto the bar. He also came off the lines a few times to help Tottenham out.
Jan Vertonghen:
Rating: 8.5
The Belgian had one of the best games as he made two excellent tackles which could have been converted into goals otherwise.
Eric Dier:
Rating: 7.5
Having played the majority of his Tottenham career as a defensive midfielder, Dier seemed to lack the temperament of a typical centre-back as he often lost Bournemouth players, the result of which could be fatal.
Danny Rose:
Rating:7.5
Danny Rose’s movement was quite limited offensively but he did enough to keep things tight at the back.
Kyle Walker:
Rating:8
Kyle Walker had a decent game, as he was really influential in the attack, helping Tottenham on the overlaps a few times. With Lamela moving in centrally, he often helped to drag Bournemouth’s defense wide.
Victor Wanyama:
Rating:8
Wanyama had a great game as he made some good challenges, one of which was timed really well just inside the Tottenham box to deny Bournemouth any progress.
Moussa Dembele:
Rating:8
The big Belgian had a great game as he dribbled his way out of midfield to make space. He also helped a lot defensively as he won a few tackles and impeded Bournemouth’s offensive progress.
Erik Lamela:
Rating:7.5
Lamela grew quite well into the game but often was ponderous and took too much time on the ball.
Christian Eriksen:
Rating:8
Eriksen did quite well to improvise a few times and used his guile effectively to help Tottenham progress the ball offensively in a congested midfield.
Dele Alli:
Rating:7.5
Alli had a tough time in Bournemouth’s midfield which continuously attempted to smother his movement but he did quite well to break away from them on a few occasions.
Heung Min Son:
Rating:7.5
Son was often isolated as he drifted into wide position which frequently deprived Tottenham of a focal point during attacks.
Substitutes:
Vincent Janssen:
Rating:7
Janssen came on for Son in the second half but didn’t have the desired impact offensively as he often gave away cheap fouls.
Moussa Sissoko:
Rating:7.5
Sissoko did initially have an impact after his arrival but his impact faded as the game went on.
