Tottenham Hotspur Player Ratings From Their Frustrating Draw Against Leicester City

Tottenham were left frustrated at the final whistle after they just managed a point from their entertaining encounter against the Foxes in a 1-1 draw at the White Hart Lane. Despite remaining unbeaten in the Premier League and boasting the meanest defense of all the clubs, Tottenham would be quite disappointed with the way the things have gone in the recent past with three draws in the last three games.

Janssen put Tottenham ahead in the first away after a neatly dispatched penalty after being adjudged to have been fouled by Robert Huth. Leicester were quick to get on level terms with Tottenham through Ahmed Musa’s finish early in the second half after Vardy pulled the ball back for the Nigerian. Below are Tottenham’s player ratings.

Hugo Lloris

Rating: 8

Lloris was decent between the sticks, collecting the ball neatly on a few occasions but couldn’t have done much in Leicester’s equalizer.

Kyle Walker

Rating: 8

Kyle Walker was one of the few players who gave Tottenham that forward push which they lacked with his pace and runs.

Eric Dier

Rating: 7.5

Although Dier was a bit naïve in the first two games in absence of Toby Alderweireld, the centre-back seems to be slowly growing into his temporary new role as a centre-back.

Jan Vertonghen

Rating: 8.5

Did really well defensively and almost came up with the winning goal towards the end of the game.

Danny Rose

Rating: 8

Rose did well offensively, as he often got balls on the overlap from Son and other teammates but wasn’t able to contribute anything in terms of end-product.

Victor Wanyama

Rating: 7

Wanyama was culpable for the equalizer from Leicester as his misplaced pass gifted Vardy the possession in a dangerous position, which the striker teed up for his teammate Musa and the Nigerian managed to put it past Lloris.

Mousa Dembele

Rating: 7.5

Although he did quite well to retain possession of the ball, his sideways passing often took the air out of the counters.

Christian Eriksen

Rating: 8

The Danish playmaker was often central to some dangerous build of plays with his guile and quick thinking.

Dele Alli

Rating: 8

Alli did quite well in and around the box as he hit the target twice for Spurs only to be denied by the keeper and the wood-work.

Heung-Min Son

Rating: 7.5

Son wasn’t given the luxury of space the Leicester defenders and he really struggled as a result.

Vincent Janssen

Rating: 8.5

Janssen had a decent game and played majority of the game with his back to the goal. He won and scored the penalty for Tottenham in the first half.

Substitutes

Kevin N’Koudou

Rating: 8

N’Koudou did well to inject some pace and intent into a Tottenham side which was getting a bit too tired towards the end.

Harry Winks

Rating: N/A

Winks played too little to get a rating.
