Former Manchester United player Robin van Persie thinks that his goal against Aston Villa is the best among the goals he has scored so far. His goal was awarded the Legends of Football prize.
The Dutch striker joined United in 2012 having spent eight years with Arsenal. He was signed from Feyenoord and since then had been on a goal scoring spree. He made his debut in the 2004-05 season for The Gunners and went on to appear in 276 matches netting 131 goals. He is regarded as one of the best strikers that the Premier League have ever seen.
The 33-year-old revealed that he has chosen that goal because it was very special for him as they were declared the champions after that game, “I had a chat with my family – my son, my wife and my daughter – about my best-ever goal and we all had different opinions,” said Van Persie.
He had a tough time choosing the goal as his son preferred another one, “My son said you have to go for the one against Charlton, I was more leaning toward the one against Villa for Man United, because of the occasion.”
“We won that game, and we won the league so I went for that one.” He added.
