An absolutely top class battle awaits on early Saturday when Bournemouth will be welcoming Tottenham Hotspur at Vitality Stadium, the exact place where Bournemouth absolutely demolished Hull City 6-1 last week.
Despite their emphatic win and the positivity blowing around the stadium, Bournemouth currently sits at the 11th position in the league table with only 3 wins from eight games and 11 points. They have lost only three games till now, which shows a good sign of a building team.
However, their next opponent is nothing like Hull City. In fact, the last time Bournemouth defeated Tottenham Hotspur was back in 1957. The Spurs have won both their league games against the Cherries last season scoring 8 goals and conceding just once. A relief for Bournemouth is definitely the injury of Harry Kane, who had thumped 3 goals last time in the exact fixture.
Defense
With such a good result at the back, Eddie Howe is highly unlikely to change his 4 men at the backline of Charlie Daniels, Steve Cook, captain Simon Francis and Adam Smith. With Charlie Daniels and Steve Cook both finding the back of the net, everything is going perfectly for the Cherries at the moment. And it is against the Spurs that their flow could actually stop.
Howe also banks pretty much on his attack keeping a conventional back line. With the likes of Nathan Ake and Tyrone Mings on the bench, his back is more than assured at the moment. Bournemouth is one of the few teams in the league, who is without a significant injury to its main players.
Midfield
The central defensive duo of Harry Arter and Andrew Surman would once again take their role in the middle, which was brilliant anchored in the last game. With Surman finishing 64 successful passes and Arter 56, both the players pretty much orchestrated the last game.
On the defensive end too, their work was commendable with Andrew Surman winning 9 ball recoveries. They are behind Jack Wilshere, the Arsenal man who has come on loan to Bournemouth and apparently Howe is a great admirer of him. Wilshere is flanked by Jordan Ibe and Junior Stanislas.
Stanislas scored twice in their 6-1 win over hull City with 5 attempted. He is expected to come to the match all guns blazing. Jordan Ibe, on the other hand, had 4 successful take-on out of the 7 he attempted. It is just a matter of time that he scores.
Attack
Calum Wilson will take his position up front after his decent performance last match, where he bagged one goal.
