Defensive Midfielder: We might see a change in the CDM position as Xabi Alonso did start the match against Augsburg and will most probably be given a rest, so instead we can expect Arturo Vidal to swap places with the former Spanish International.
Right Central Midfield: Usually a spot for Arturo Vidal. But since the services of the Chilean will be needed further back, the deputy will head to youngster Joshua Kimmich to replace him as an RCM. Safe to say, Kimmich has been the star of this season for Bayern, maintaining a great scoring run and proving to be a crucial component for Bayern at such a young age.
Left Central Midfield: Thiago Alcantara has been an ever-present figure for the Bavarians this season. After a series of speculations over his possible move to Man City, the Spanish international chose to stay at Bayern. And so far, the decision is paying off well for Thiago as he has been one of Bayern’s top performers since Ancelotti took over.
Left wing: Kingsley Coman has found life difficult since Ancelotti took charge but he remains to be a possibility to be a starter against PSV. The Frenchman’s pace could cause some serious problems for PSV’s defense.
Right Wing: Thomas Muller’s struggle in front of goal is evident this season as the world champions has failed to find the back of the net in the Bundesliga so far. A goal or two against PSV in the Champions League could boost the confidence of the 27-year-old.
Striker: Robert Lewandowski ended his goal slump when he scored a brace in weekend’s victory over Augsburg. He cleverly found space to score the first goal. He has now scored seven goals in the Bundesliga, tied with Aubameyang to the second spot behind Cologne’s Anthony Modeste. The Polish International will look to continue his form against the Dutch outfit on Tuesday.
