For the first time in the Premier League, Watford and Hull City will be playing each other which is quite an interesting fact. Hull City have lost their last 5 Premier league games in a row and they have not lost six successive Premier leagues last since 2009.
Watford have had a pretty decent start to their season and are sitting ninth in the table now with 12 points from nine games. They have performed well but in patches. Mazzarri needs to find out a formula of getting consistency into the Hornets’ game.
Watford can be the prime example of Jekyll-and-Hyde this season as they have beaten Manchester United but flattered to deceive against Burnley.
Mazzarri’s boys settled for a 0-0 draw at Liberty stadium last week against Swansea City and need to grind out results from such games. Hull City are in relegation zone right now with just seven points from six games and Watford should be able to beat the struggling Tigers.
Here is the predicted Watford lineup against Hull City.
Defence
Experienced Brazilian keeper Heurelho Gomes will start under the bar for the Hornets. Craig Cathcart is out for the game which means that Watford are likely to stick to the back three of Prodl, Britos and Kaboul.
Watford’s defending has been pretty good this season. They have conceded just 13 goals from 9 games and have already played teams against Southampton, Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester United.
Hull City will be all fired up for the game as they will be desperate to get themselves out of the drop zone and the Watford back-three needs to be ready for the challenge.
