Valencia are planning a massive bid for Bayer Leverkusen frontman Javier Hernandez. Valencia owner Peter Lim is ready to meet his release clause €45m (£40m).
Chicharito, what he is fondly called, was signed from Manchester United for a fee of around £7.3m in 2015 and since then has been in blistering form. Valencia have recently appointed Cesare Prandelli as their manager and are languishing at the bottom three of the La Liga table.
Prandelli wants to add more reinforcements to his attack and Chicharito is his prime target. Leverkusen are very reluctant to release the striker and are reportedly considering to extend his contract which runs until 2018.
After signing the Mexican International who is very popular in his country, the German club has seen a huge soar in TV ratings and shirt sales. Their popularity in Mexico and United States have also gone upwards and the club is very desperate to hold on that.
Chicharito has played 86 matches for Mexico and has found the target 45 times.
