Pep Guardiola is reportedly interested in Valencia left-back Jose Gaya. Guardiola wants to reshuffle his full backs and Gaya is his primary target. City only have Aleksandar Kolarov and Gael Clichy as left back but with Guardiola often uses Kolarov at the heart of the defence and that means Clichy remains as his only choice.
Gaya came through the ranks of Valencia and had earlier also been linked with Manchester United. Mourinho also wanted him to sign when he was the manager of Chelsea.
The 21-year old who has five caps for Spain U-21 can also be deployed on the left wing and with his sheer pace and stamina could be a problem for the opponent defence.
Manchester City were earlier linked with a move for Hector Bellerin. The La Masia product is all set to renew his contract with Arsenal and the Spanish gaffer may have to find an alternate right back.
