Another teenager, Goncalo Guedes has been linked to Manchester United. Manchester United sent scouts to watch the 19-year-old Benfica player playing against Feirense.
The 19-year old who is basically a winger has been shifted more centrally by coach Rui Vitoria. The Portuguese club is known for producing raw talents.
Nemanja Matic, Fabio Coentrao, Oscar Cardozo and David Luiz who was recently signed by Chelsea are among the notable players produced by Benfica. The Portuguese club sold Renato Sanches to Bayern Munich and winger Nicolas Gaitan to Atletico Madrid in the last transfer window.
Guedes who is being touted as the next ’Ronaldo’ has played 59 games for Benfica netting five goals for them. The Portuguese is managed by Jorge Mendes, the same agent Jose Mourinho has at the moment.
Guedes has still five years left on his contract and has a release clause of around £52m. Another Benfica player Alex Grimaldo has already been linked with the two Manchester clubs.
