According to reports, Liverpool’s Philippe Coutinho is desperate to join Barcelona. Coutinho has started this season on a high note netting four and setting up another four goals. The 24-year old has been one of Jürgen Klopp’s side’s best players in the ongoing season.
The Brazilian has been targeted by the Catalans for a long time and he could be the ideal long term replacement for Spaniard Andres Iniesta after finally bringing in some consistency to his game.
He signed a new contract last season that runs until 2020 but Liverpool are trying to offer a new contract to tie him to the club for a longer period. Coutinho is a very good friend of Neymar and this could be another reason he might force a move to the defending Spanish Champions.
Adding to that, Barcelona striker Luis Suarez who made his multi-million dollar move from Liverpool was once asked that which player from Liverpool would he like to bring to Nou Camp and the Uruguayan forward answered, “Philippe Coutinho”.
However, Brazilian legend Ronaldo thinks otherwise as he wants Coutinho to join Real Madrid. If Coutinho does opt to leave, Napoli attacker Lorenzo Insigne could be the replacement as he was reportedly unhappy and wants a move.
