Liverpool defender Mamadou Sakho set to be sold in January, according to reports. The 26-year old hasn’t featured in the Premier League so far and a transfer is likely to happen. The French defender has been playing for the Liverpool U-23’s for quite a while.
Sakho was asked to go on a loan spell to West Bromwich Albion but refused it and decided to stay and fight for a place in the Liverpool starting lineup. Nacer Chadli, The ex-Tottenham Hotspur midfielder recently joined Tony Pulis’ side and has been a revelation in the side. Also added to that, Sakho has spent four months on the sideline after a failed drug test but he was cleared of that charge.
Sakho was involved in a social media controversy where he burst out his frustration in an angry conversation, “Now it’s 3 weeks since I am fit to play games, “I finish all my rehabilitation work. They don’t want me to play also with second team lol! Why I don’t know.”
Klopp hinted that he might not give a chance to the defender in the EFL Cup before the match against Spurs which they won 2-1. “I hope you didn’t make the long trip for this question.
“[His U23 form is] good, but all that I’ve said about this I said to Mama in the talk, so nothing else to say about it.”
