Liverpool defender duo Dejan Lovren and Nathaniel Clyne started training on Wednesday before of the much anticipated clash against Manchester United. This will be a big boost to manager Jürgen Klopp who is eyeing a third straight Premier League win.
Lovren injured his groin during Liverpool’s 2-1 win over Swansea. He withdrew himself from Croatia’s World Cup Qualifier. Clyne has been sidelined due to a knee injury and missed England’s World Cup Qualifier against Malta and Slovenia.
Although Klopp already has Joel Matip and Ragnar Klavan in the squad, he was desperate to have them back in the squad. Lovren has been a mainstay in Liverpool defence of late.
Klopp also has Divock Origi who came back from his international duty although Roberto Firmino and Philippe Coutinho have still not joined the training.
Adam Lallana who was injured against Swansea is still a major doubt. Klopp has some major changes to do in the midfield as midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum also got injured while playing for Netherlands.
