Leicester City’s First Point Away From Home: How The Players Rated In The Fighting Draw

Leicester earned a hard-fought point at the White Hart Lane in an entertaining encounter against Tottenham. The hosts went ahead in the first half after Vincent Janssen was adjudged to have been fouled by Robert Huth and Janssen dispatched calmly from the spot.

The Foxes leveled immediately in the second half through Ahmed Musa. Tottenham still maintain their unbeaten status but they would be really frustrated with the way things have gone in the recent past. Below are Leicester individual player ratings.

Kasper Schmeichel

Rating: 8

The Danish keeper did really well between the sticks and made some really good saves, some of which were hit with pace from varying ranges outside the box.

Danny Simpson

Rating: 7.5

Although Simpson wasn’t too involved offensively, he did enough to keep Heung-Min Son at bay but struggled a bit towards the end when N’Koudou came on.

Wes Morgan

Rating: 8

The centre-back had a really good game and was quite solid at the back. His positioning was exceptional.

Robert Huth

Rating: 6.5

Huth was in a continuous tussle with Janssen throughout the game and gave away a silly penalty to Tottenham after pulling him down inside the box.

Christian Fuchs

Rating: 7.5

Fuchs did really well both offensively and defensively as he got into some really good positions and helped Leicester in their counters throughout the game.

Riyad Mahrez

Rating: 7

Mahrez was a little underwhelming by his standards and often got possession of the ball in the wrong half and was stolen away of possession a few times.

Danny Drinkwater

Rating: 7.5

Drinkwater did well to congest the Tottenham midfield and helped Leicester to get on with the counter quite quickly.

Andy King

Rating: 7

Although he helped Leicester smother Tottenham’s midfield quite well, he gave away some cheap free-kicks in dangerous areas but luckily, Tottenham couldn’t capitalize on them.

Ahmed Musa

Rating: 8.5

Musa was involved in many of Leicester’s dangerous attacks and also came up with the equalizer in the beginning of the second half.

Shinji Okazaki

Rating: 8

Okazaki was a livewire throughout the game as he chased down ball after ball tirelessly and gave Tottenham defenders a run for their money.

Jamie Vardy

Rating: 7.5

Despite failing to contribute directly, his play around the box was quite exceptional as he pulled back the ball on two occasions, one of which resulted in the equalizer.

Substitutes

Leonardo Ulloa

Rating: 8

Ulloa was thoroughly involved after he came on and played a part in some of Leicester’s dangerous counters towards the end.

Marc Albrighton

Rating: 8

Albrighton’s arrival also helped Leicester inject some pace and intent into Leicester’s attack.

Jeffrey Schlupp

Rating: 8

Schlupp was involved in some dangerous build of plays as he did well to improvise around the edge of the box.
