Leicester City extended their unbeaten home run with a timely and much needed win against Crystal Palace at the King Power Stadium on Saturday. After having to deal with some early pressure from the visitors, the Foxes gradually took hold of the game and in the end ran out 3-1 winners in an exciting match. Had to be on his toes in the early minutes of both halves and was able to make the saves at the crucial moments his team needed.
Simpson (5/10)
The right back was not able to win his tackles and provide much cover defensively, barring the goal line clearance off Benteke, Moreover, he could create only a single chance in the forward areas and certainly Ranieri needs more from him.
Morgan (7/10)
Typical fighting display from the defender as he put his body on the line on numerous occasions especially at the end of the match. Was dominated in the air but stood firm with his defending on the ground.
Huth (7/10)
Provided full support to his defensive partner with his gutsy defending. 10 clearances and 3 blocks helped his team retain the lead and keep shots from going into the goal.
Fuchs (8/10)
Brilliant in the attacking and handy in defending, Fuchs did his job tremendously well on his channel creating three chances and scoring a wonderful goal at the end to cap off his performance.
Mahrez (8/10)
Gave a real hard time to the Palace defenders on the left as he weaved his magic on a couple of occasions. Used the ball very well and put in some real dangerous deliveries into the box as well. The good move at the end should have been a perfect goal for Mahrez but was foiled by a wonderful save from Mandanda.
King (7/10)
Passed the ball well in the middle of the park and also created two chances for his mates. Worked very hard during the game
Drinkwater (7/10)
Passed the ball well but wasn’t able to provide the cover needed at the base of the midfield having lost his challenges in the important areas. Completed three takeons and created two chances nevertheless.
Musa (7.5/10)
His pace and direct running caused problems in the opposition defence and scored the vital opening goal for his team which was also his first goal for Leicester in the Premier League.
Okazaki (7.5/10)
Worked very hard and utilized the ball very well. Scored a goal in the game as well to keep his team on top in an exciting contest.
Slimani (6.5/10)
Held the ball up well upfront and provided a nice assist for the opening goal. Was very good with his headers inside the opposition penalty box.
