Swansea City have sacked Francesco Guidolin as manager and replaced him with Bob Bradley. Guidolin was appointed in January and had led Swansea to a respectable 12th position last season.
Guidolin was under tremendous pressure as the Swans were winless in the last six matches that they played in all competitions. Earlier there were reports that Swansea chairman- Huw Jenkins, had a meeting with Ryan Giggs regarding the appointment of a new manager.
Bradley, who was managing French second tier team Le Havre will take charge from the next match. Bradley was the manager of United States National team for a brief period. He also had successful spells with the Egypt National team and Norwegian club Stabaek.
Bradley said, “On the one hand, I would have liked to see the project through by taking the team up at the end of the season. On the other hand, I thank HAC [Le Havre] and president [Vincent] Volpe for allowing me the chance to coach in the world’s leading league.”
“It is a unique opportunity and I will not forget HAC and the president have made it possible for me to take it at this moment during the season. I also know I can now coach in the Premier League thanks to the exposure this club has offered me.”
