Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has been named the Premier League manager of the month. He is the first German to be awarded this award.
Liverpool are currently on a four-match winning streak in the Premier League and looks to make it five when they will face Manchester United on Monday. The Reds started September with a thumping 4-1 win over Leicester City. Then they defeated Chelsea 2-1 with Henderson scoring a scorcher. Maintaining the form they thrashed a hapless Hull 5-1 to finish the month on a high.
Klopp said, “I went into the office of my coaches and said, ‘We are Manager of the Month! I don’t need personal prizes but it’s nice now I have another one. We are on a good way but there are so many good teams in this league and so many difficult games for us, which we have to be ready for.”
“I’m fine with the moment, but we have to play a few more games and hopefully we perform well.”
Tottenham Hotspur’s Son Heung-min has been adjudged the player of the month. Jordan Henderson’s wonderful strike against Chelsea was awarded the goal of the month award.
