Liverpool are on the verge of signing Bury defender Emeka Obi. The 6ft 5-inch defender has reportedly already signed the pre-contract papers but an issue on visa has been holding up the move.
The 15-year-old is very promising and already has made his debut against Morecambe. Liverpool has reportedly paid a hefty sum to Bury over the transfer of the defender who will join their academy.
Bury coach David Flitcroft touted him as the next big thing, “I think he’s the best talent right now at 15 years old in the entire country.”
“He only came in the building two years ago and nothing fazes him. He’s been training with the first team and he’s going back to school next week.”
Obi is the youngest player ever to have made debut for Bury. “We’ve had him for five weeks, training with the first team, training with Ryan Kidd and he’s been playing with the under-18s.”
“He’s a kid that’s really switched on, I’ve watched him while he’s been on summer holidays and he’s been in every single day.”
