The epic clash between the two fierce rivals in Borussia Dortmund and FC Schalke played out a 0:0 draw at the Westfalenstadion. Here’s the Borussia Dortmund’s players’ ratings from the game.
Roman Burki (6.5/10): Made a couple of good saves from Schalke’s dangerous counter attacks and didn’t have to do too much in the second half but was overall good. The clean sheet would give the Swiss goalkeeper a lot of confident.
Lukasz Piszczek (7/10): Distributed the ball very well along with some dangerous crosses but looked very fragile defensively and at times, a bit slow to the passing.
Sokratis (6/10): Sokratis was rightly booked for some poor fouls and the seasoned defender didn’t have a great time against the Schalke force but was much more composed in the second half.
Matthias Ginter (5/10): Ginter was one of the poor players on the night. He looked extremely fragile in the first half which allowed Schalke to have a few chances to score and also got completely owned at one point by Choupo Moting in the second half.
Felix Passlack (8/10): One of the better players in the derby. The 18-year-old gave his all for Dortmund and was composed on the ball. Passlack made some good passes down the hand channel and was solid defensively as well. He got substituted at the backend of second half.
Julian Weigl (7.5/10): A very good performance as we would expect from the ever-present Dortmund midfielder Julian Weigl. Even though he looked nervous in the first half but settled in as the game went on. Weigl made 54 passes with 93% accuracy!
