Die topspiel of matchday eight in the Bundesliga awaits us today when Bayern Munich lock horns with Borussia Monchengladbach at the Allanz Arena.
Bayern have started the season in their usual fashion, however, the Bavarians have failed to get a win in their last two Bundesliga matches, being held by Cologne and Eintracht Frankfurt respectively. But Carlo Ancelotti’s side are still unbeaten in the Bundesliga with five wins and two draws, in which they scored 18 goals while conceding just four in the process.
Robert Lewandowski has been Bayern’s top scorer this season with five goals but is experiencing a goal drought at the moment. Joshua Kimmich has supplied the goals in place of Lewy, scoring four goals already this season, Kimmich, is being touted as the next big thing in German football.
Gladbach on the other hand, are having a rough start to the season. Andre Schubert’s team are currently in ninth position with just 11 points on the board. It’s been a similar problem for head coach Andre Schubert compared to last season, their dismal away record has been a clear reason of their downfall. The Foals currently hold the fourth worst record in the Bundesliga in away matches, managing just one point in three games, while they have been the fourth best team at home this season with 10 points in four games.
Thorgan Hazard has stepped up for Gladbach this season, scoring three goals. New club captain Lars Stindl has two goals along with Brazilian Rafael.

Franck Ribery will once again be an absentee against Gladbach on Saturday. The French forward had an immense turnaround after the appointment of new coach Carlo Ancelotti but is out for several weeks due to his hamstring problems.
Borussia Mönchengladbach are expected to feature some changes following their midweek UEFA Champions League win away against Celtic FC. USMNT international Fabian Johnson is back in contention having recovered from a virus, while Raffael and Thorgan Hazard are to undergo late fitness tests.
