Arsene Wenger is very desperate to bolster his attacking options and is reportedly scouting Porto forward Andre Silva. The 20-year old is hot property in Europe and has been attracting interest from many clubs including Juventus and Atletico Madrid. The Gunners boss had his scouts present in the Leicester City vs Porto match.
Silva started this season in blistering form netting five goals in seven matches. Wenger has been monitoring the youngster from last year’s U-20 World Cup where he almost single-handedly helped Portugal to reach the quarter-finals. He scored four goals in the tournament.
Silva recently scored a hat-trick for Portugal against Faroe Island in a World Cup Qualifier match.
Olivier Giroud hasn’t yet scored for the Gunners while Lucas Perez is yet to play a full match in the Premier League. Wenger has been using Alexis Sanchez as a sole striker from the start of this season.
Silva signed a new five-year deal in the summer with the club and has a release clause of £52.8m.
