Arsenal midfielder Santi Cazorla has revealed that he hasn’t been offered a new contract. His contract is due to expire at the end of this season.
The midfielder started the season superbly and has played all the matches of Premier League till now. Wenger signed Granit Xhaka but he preferred Coquelin and Cazorla in the midfield. Cazorla moved from Malaga in 2012 and since then has been an integral part of The Gunners line up.
Cazorla wants to stay at The Emirates and is very keen to sign a contract extension. “I’m very happy here,” “The club has treated me very well. I’m in a great club and I’m playing minutes which is what I want. If I didn’t play, then I would consider leaving but that is not the case. I have this season left under contract and we will see what the club decides regarding my future. I will also decide what is best for me.”
On being asked if he was offered a contract extension the 31-year-old answered, “No. I don’t have any news from the club in that respect. My focus now is on playing and to be able to enjoy playing football following a season when I had lots of [injury] problems.”
