Tottenham Hotspur and Leicester City were the two teams who were in the title race for most parts of the last season. Leicester City won the title race in the end and out of nowhere, Spurs finished third in a two-horse race overtaken by local rivals Arsenal on the very last day.
However, the Premier League holders have struggled to maintain their form this season and cannot even find themselves in the top half after nine gameweeks. Spurs, on the other hand, are unbeaten this season in the Premier League but still are placed fifth on the table courtesy to four draws in nine games.
Tottenham Hotspur needs to learn to grind out results if they want to win the title this season. They had a 0-0 draw against Bournemouth last week. That’s not the kind of result you should settle for if you are a title challenger.
Spurs will be favourites on paper when they take on Leicester City on Saturday and anything less than a win would be costly for the Lilywhites. They are winless in four games in all competitions and another negative result will be damaging to the team morale.
Here is the predicted Spurs lineup against Bournemouth.
Defence
Skipper Hugo Lloris will definitely start between the sticks ahead of Michel Vorm. We expect Kyle Walker to replace Kieran Trippier in the right-back position.
Toby Alderweireld is doubtful to make a comeback before the game.
With the Belgian ruled out, we expect Eric Dier to start at the heart of the defence alongside Jan Vertonghen. Danny Rose will keep his place at left-back.
