Summer transfer windows are always exciting times for the fans and it was probably on the cards that this summer will shatter all past records and it did. We saw as many as thirteen clubs breaking their own transfer records and Premier League spending crossed the £1bn level for the first time ever. A whopping £1.165bn was spent by the 20 Premier League sides combined. Thanks to the new TV deal, each and every Premier League club has the funds now and most of them used it very well.
Here is an XI of the best signings this season in a 4-3-3 formation-
Defence
Goalkeeper: Claudio Bravo
The Chilean international moved to Manchester City this summer from Barcelona. The two time back to back Copa America winner makes our XI with relative ease.
Right-back: Daryl Janmaat
The Dutch right-back signed for Watford from Newcastle United who suffered relegation last season for a fee around £7m. A player with plenty of international and club level experience, Janmaat is a solid addition to the Hornets. The Dutchman can be an instrumental figure in Walter Mazzarri’s 3-5-2 formation thanks to his brilliant attacking duty and excellent crossing ability.
Central defenders: John Stones and Shkodran Mustafi
To get quality players who fulfil your criteria, you should never hesitate to break the bank and that’s what both Guardiola and Wenger did. Yes, Wenger spent £35m for a defender. That’s the state of the current transfer market. Mustafi is a vastly experienced central defender while Stones is a player with immense potential.
Left-back: Marcos Alonso
The Spanish left-back was signed by Antonio Conte on the deadline day from Fiorentina for £23m. Formerly at Bolton and Sunderland, the left-back will be well-known to Conte from his Serie A days and is a solid addition to the Blues.
Midfield
Defensive Midfielder: N’Golo Kante
A key figure in Leicester City winning the title last season, Kante was snapped by the Blues in earlier weeks of the transfer window and has already started impressing at Stamford Bridge. With his brilliant work rate and defensive abilities, Kante is an automatic choice into the transfer window XI.
Central midfielders: Paul Pogba and Joe Allen
Pogba became the most expensive player in the world as he returned to Manchester United from Juventus. The Frenchman makes out XI alongside Joe Allen who had a sensational Euro campaign before moving to Stoke City from Liverpool.
Attack
Right winger: Henrikh Mkhitaryan
The Armenian international brings a wealth of creativity to Manchester United and makes our XI with ease
Centre-forward: Zlatan Ibrahimovic
Zlatan finally moved to the Premier League on a free transfer to Manchester United. He has already started showing what he is capable of. The Swede makes our XI convincingly.
Left Winger: Sadio Mane
From his very first game with Liverpool, the fleet-footed winger has shown that why Klopp broke the bank for him. The 24-year-old is an obvious choice for our transfer window XI.
