Derby County have started life under their new manager Nigel Pearson in a horrific way. The Rams have managed to win just 1 game this season and are sitting lowly at 19th with just five points from six games. Nigel Pearson’s boys will host Ipswich Town at iPro Stadium on Tuesday 13th September. The Tractor Boys also had a slow start to the season having managed just two wins from six games this season. Ipswich are sitting 15th on the table with just eight points from six games.
Big things were expected of Derby County this season with the arrival of former Leicester City boss Nigel Pearson but the Rams are yet to impress so far this season. Derby County have scored just once this season in six games and the likes of Chris Martin, Johnny Russell, Paul Ince have to step up their game as soon as possible.
Here is the predicted Derby county lineup against Ipswich Town.
Defence
Scott Carson is the undisputed choice under the bar. 23-year-old Cyrus Christie will start in the right-back position. Skipper Richard Keogh will partner Jason Shackell at the heart of the Derby defence. Swiss left-back Marcus Olsson will feature in the left-back position. Derby County have conceded five goals in six games this season which is not the worst but could improve and the defenders have to step up.
Midfield
Derby County have been hit massively by the departure of midfielder Jeff Hendrick to Burnley. The Rams are both short of quality and numbers in the middle of the park. 21-year-old will Hughes is likely to start at the heart of the park alongside Craig Bryson.
Jacob Butterfield will start as the number ten. Tom Ince had an excellent season last time around but is yet to impress this season. The 24-year-old will start on the right flank. Johnny Russell will keep his place on the left.
Attack
Derby County grabbed the signature of Manchester United youngster James Wilson on loan for this season who is pretty highly rated at Old Trafford. The 20-year-old is touted as a future superstar of Manchester United and the English national team and will be looking to impress in Derby County colours this season. Derby have other options up front in the form of Matej Vydra and experienced Darren Bent but the 20-year-old English youngster is likely to spearhead the attack for the Rams and will be looking to do the damage with his pace.
