Chelsea midfielder Lewis Baker has expressed his desire to play for Chelsea. The 21-year-old is currently on loan at Eredivisie side Vitesse Arnhem.
The midfielder was named Chelsea’s Young Player of the year in 2014 and has already scored four goals for the Dutch side. This is his second spell with the club. He made 35 appearances for them last season. The teenager has also played for MK Dons and Sheffield Wednesday.
Chelsea lost their last match against Arsenal 3-0. Cesc Fabregas and Oscar are still struggling to get back to form and Baker could be the solution to Chelsea’s midfield crisis. The versatile player can be deployed anywhere in midfield. He made his debut under former manager Jose Mourinho in 2014 against Derby County in FA Cup.
“It’s just the start of the season but I need to keep doing my best every day and keep improving so I can get back to Chelsea, where I’d like to be,” he said to the club website. “It’s a very good league. There’s a lot of young talent out here. There are also a lot of players who have played out here and moved on to the Premier League. If I keep going the way I’m going that’s one of my dreams I want to make come true.”
