Atletico Madrid striker Antoine Griezmann has parted ways with his agent and now will be guided by his father.
Griezmann has been linked with Manchester United and Chelsea but the French International has ended all the rumours by agreeing to a new contract. Griezmann has spent two superb seasons with Atletico. Griezmann is an avid admirer of Atletico coach Diego Simeone. With Simeone reducing his Atletico contract, Griezmann’s fate could also be decided by this move.
Griezmann has been Atletico’s top scorer for the past two seasons and also emerged as the highest scorer in the recently concluded Euros. With a release clause of €100m, big clubs like Manchester United and Chelsea should invest on him as the player of his quality would be an asset to any team.
Jose Mourinho has identified Griezmann as the ideal replacement for Wayne Rooney. Griezmann scored 32 goals for Atletico and has been in superb form since joining from Real Sociedad. Griezmann also helped France to reach the Euro 2016 Final.
Griezmann has signed a new contract with a buyout clause of £86m. If Mourinho somehow manages him to bring to Old Trafford United could be one of the mightiest clubs of the world, atleast on paper.
