Jurgen Klopp was overwhelmed after Liverpool got the better of Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. “The beginning was brilliant. We played football like hell! It was very intense, very lively, very flexible, our build-up was brilliant in the first half”.
Dejan Lovren was on target and Jordan Henderson scored a scorcher for Liverpool while Diego Costa reduced the deficit for the Blues.
Defender David Luiz who was signed by Chelsea on the deadline day replaced John Terry but couldn’t help his team much as they defended pretty awfully on a whole. Gary Cahill’s poor clearance led to Henderson’s goal.
On being asked if they are up for the Premier league title Klopp answered, “Are we title contenders? Someone asked me that when we won 3-1 here last season. My answer was: ‘Are you crazy?”
“We have 10 points. That’s fantastic. I’m really happy with that after these difficult fixtures. We know we can play good football , we’re convinced about our quality. We just have to do it every week, every three days.”
Chelsea played better in the second half. As a result, Costa pulled one back in the 61st minutes but Liverpool held their nerves to deny Chelsea from scoring. Costa had a chance but he hit straight to Liverpool custodian Simon Mignolet.
