Watford boss Walter Mazzarri says that striker and captain Troy Deeney reminds him of Argentine legend Diego Maradona. Deeney scored a beautiful lob against West Ham United as Watford came from behind to defeat West Ham 4-2.
Mazzarri sounded very delighted, what he did against West Ham was great”. I’ve only seen a few players do it and one of them was Maradona. To score a goal like that is incredible but what I ask from the squad and especially to Deeney as he is captain is to continue for every game, and give 100%.”
Deeney has joined from Walsall in 2010 and so far has scored 98 goals in 269 appearances. Watford went on to defeat Manchester United 3-1 at the Vicarage Road as well and Deeney scored a late penalty to complete the upset. The win against West Ham was their first win this season. Watford will be traveling to face Burnley on 27th September.
