In what will be a major relief to Antonio Conte, Chelsea defender John Terry is all set to return from injury against Hull on Saturday. Terry started all four Premier League matches under the new manager before injuring his ankle in a 2-2 draw with Swansea City. Terry has trained with the squad yesterday.
Conte might opt for the 3-5-2 formation against Hull City. Gary Cahill was very sloppy against Arsenal and if the gaffer does choose to play with his favourite formation then Cahill will have to make way for Terry. Branislav Ivanovic and David Luiz will fill the other two centre back slots while Cesar Azpilicueta and newly signed Marcos Alonso will be deployed as the two wingbacks.
There were many speculations about Terry’s future at the Stamford Bridge but he signed a new one-year deal with the club. Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel has recently revealed that Conte was the man behind Terry’s contract extension.
