Chelsea have been dealt a huge blow as John Terry has been ruled out from their next match against Hull City. Terry had been on the verge of a return but failed to pass a fitness test. That means Gary Cahill will be partnering David Luiz in the heart of the Chelsea defence. Terry suffered an injury during Chelsea’s 2-2 against Swansea.
Chelsea have lost both the matches against Liverpool and Arsenal in Terry’s absence. Gary Cahill looked clueless against Arsenal and it was his mistake that led to Sanchez’s goal. Conte earlier hinted that he might opt for 3-5-2 but with the absence of the 35-year-old defender he could stick to his 4-1-4-1 formation.
Conte said, “He hasn’t recovered from the injury with his ankle. We can see him after the international break.”
Conte had earlier had three meetings with owner Roman Abramovich and the latter assured him that he will be handed a hefty amount of money to bring the player he wants.
