Celtic’s 100% start to the Premiership was brought to an end in a dramatic fashion by lowly-placed Inverness Caledonian Thistle thanks to a very late equaliser from Inverness forward Alex Fisher. Aussie playmaker Tom Rogic opened the scoring for Celtic on 17 minutes after getting on the end of Kieran Tierney’s terrific cross. Billy King equalised for the hosts in the 28th minute with a superb strike after cutting inside from the right wing.
Scott Sinclair kept up his amazing scoring run with an excellent curler beyond the keeper’s reach becoming the first Celtic player since Jimmy McGrory to score in every league game so far. Celtic had a few chances to kill the game but could not take those and paid for it as Inverness substitute Alex Fisher scored the all-important equaliser for the hosts with just two minutes remaining.
Here are the player ratings for Celtic from the game:
Dorus de Vries: 5/10
Made a few good stops during the game especially from the free kick. Could have and should have done better for both goals. Not good enough.
Cristian Gamboa: 6.5/10
Bombed forward really well and supported Roberts but needs to be better defensively.
Mikael Lustig: 7/10
A solid outing from the Swede at the heart of the defence. Played the ball out of defence and picked out the attackers with ease. Moved to the right after Gamboa was subbed off.
Erik Sviatchenko: 5.5/10
A rare off-game for the Dane. Was lucky to be on the pitch after the tackle of Draper. Gave away too mane fouls on the edge of the box. Could have made up for his mistakes with a goal but hit the post.
Kieran Tierney: 8.5/10
The best player on the pitch. Continuously troubled the Inverness defence with his bombarding runs from the left flank. Made a stunning cross for the Rogic goal. A great shot from the youngster was saved spectacularly by the Inverness keeper. Defended well too.
Scott Brown: 7/10
A great game from the skipper. Picked out his teammates with his passing range. Covered well when the full-backs went forward.
Callum McGregor: 7/10
Started the game really well creating a number of chances but faded in the second half.
Patrick Roberts: 6.5/10
Looked a bit off-colour. Took the defenders on but missed the end product.
Tom Rogic: 7/10
Was at the right place at the right time to convert Tierney’s amazing cross. Was potent with the ball. Created a number of chances.
Scott Sinclair: 7.5/10
Started a bit slow but slowly came back to his usual self. Created a number of chances and took his goal in a spectacular fashion.
Moussa Dembele: 6.5/10
Looked isolated up front. All the chances those came his way was either saved or poorly hit.
Substitutes
Jozo Simunovic: 6/10
