Atletico Madrid striker Antoine Griezmann has parted ways with his agent and now will be guided by his father. Griezmann has been linked with Manchester United and Chelsea but the French International has ended all the rumours by agreeing to a new contract. He has spent two superb seasons with Atletico. Griezmann is an avid admirer of Atletico coach Diego Simeone. With Simeone reducing his Atletico contract Griezmann’s fate could also be decided by this move.
Griezmann has been Atletico’s top scorer for the past two seasons and also emerged as the highest scorer in the recently concluded Euro. With a release clause of €100million, big clubs like Manchester United and Chelsea are perhaps the only ones who can invest on the player.
The Frenchman had a brilliant Euro 2016 and if he keeps performing the way he is right now, a future move could materialise. United have already forked out a lot of money this past transfer window and considering their massive revenue, you wouldn’t bet against them in moving for Griezmann.
