Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has revealed that he wants Granit Xhaka to become a box-to-box midfielder rather than a holding midfielder. Xhaka was bought for a staggering £35million from FC Basel during the summer transfer window.
Wenger has preferred Santi Cazorla and Francis Coquelin in the central midfield but has promised Xhaka to more game time.
Xhaka has shown some glimpse of his talent but according to Wenger he has to control his temperament. Xhaka has mainly played as a defensive midfielder but can also play in the central midfield.
With Ramsey injured Wenger wants to give the 23-year-old a start more frequently.
On being asked about Xhaka, Wenger said that the Swiss international has all the qualities of what a box to box midfielders should have. He can continuously run as a tireless engine, has the power and is also a brilliant passer of the ball.
