Chelsea owner, Roman Abramovich is reportedly considering a squad overhaul after having three back to back meetings with Chelsea manager, Antonio Conte.
Chelsea won their first three matches but after that, they slumped to back to back defeats against Liverpool and Arsenal. They did sign Marcos Alonso and David Luiz to strengthen their defence but Conte wants to rebuild the rear guard with some significant signings in January. They will be boosted by the return of John Terry who is set to replace Gary Cahill, who was awful against Arsenal.
Conte’s success was based on his favoured 3-5-2 combination and he wants to replicate that with The Blues. Chelsea were linked with a host of players including Kalidou Koulibaly, Leonardo Bonucci and Antonio Rudiger in the past but failed to lure any of them to Stamford Bridge. Chelsea are currently lying in the eighth position.
Meanwhile, Cesc Fabregas has been linked with a number of clubs and he could be on his way out, adding to the potential defensive exits.
