Manchester City will perhaps face their toughest test yet this season when they make the trip to the White Hart Lane in a top of the table clash to face Tottenham Hotspur.
Tottenham Hotspur have settled into a rhythm which was missing at the beginning of the season and currently are one of the two teams to have not yet lost a match. The other team is City and thus the anticipation surrounding the match. Spurs have traditionally struggled against City but turned the tables last season, doing the double over them. Spurs have won 4 and drawn 2 in the 6 matches they have played and have looked increasingly confident and fluent.
Heung-Min Son has been the success story so far of their season and will be one of the key factors in Sunday’s game.
Meanwhile at City, Pep Guardiola began smashing records after only a month in charge and it needed almost the whole of Glasgow and Aleks Kolarov to bring their winning run of 10 games to a halt as they battled to a 3-3 draw against the Hoops.
City will be knowing the challenge that lies in wait at the White Hart Lane and they will have to be solid at the back if they are to avoid being carved open by a similar high-pressing team with talented individuals.
T4O’s PREDICTED MANCHESTER CITY LINE-UP VS TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR (4-1-4-1)
DEFENCE
Claudio Bravo will be in goal and will hope for a more compact backline as he lies in wait for his first Premier League clean sheet. Bacary Sagna is expected to be at right-back as the rotational policy regarding the full backs continues. Stones will be handed a recall with Otamendi retaining his place in the most likely scenario. Gael Clichy will most probably be at left-back.
MIDFIELD
Fernandinho had a rare 45 minutes below his usual level in the first half at Glasgow and will look to return to his faultless form. David Silva will be one of the advanced midfielders in a No.8 role. While in Kevin De Bruyne’s absence, the other slot will most likely be filled by Ilkay Gundogan.
ATTACK
With Nolito suspended we can see Raheem Sterling shift to the left flank and continue his imperious form from the start of this season. Jesus Navas is likely to get the nod on the right flank where he will lend more balance while the irrepressible Sergio Aguero will lead the line once again.
