After a wonderful victory over rivals Arsenal away from home in their first game of the Premier League season, Jürgen Klopp’s Liverpool will travel to Turf Moor to take on newly promoted Burnley in their second of the three consecutive away fixtures before hosting their first home game. The Reds would be heavy favourites for the tie but anything can happen in the Premier League as we are familiar with all too often so it will be an interesting game to watch out for. Let’s take a look at the possible lineup of Liverpool which will be in action against Burnley on Saturday.
Formation: 4-2-3-1
Goalkeeper
Simon Mignolet would be once again starting for the visitors under the bars as Loris Karius recovers from his broken hand injury. Mignolet would be hoping to keep a clean sheet, this time, around after conceding three in the opening game.
Right-Back
Nathaniel Clyne is the undisputed no.1 for the right back role under Klopp, after a good attacking performance against Arsenal he would start the game but would be hoping to do a lot better defensively, this time, around.
Central Defender
Dejan Lovren would start in the heart of the defence for the Reds, looking to help the team have the leadership at the back in during the set pieces apart from defending the attacks of the Burnley forwards.
Central Defender
New boy Ragnar Klavan had a fantastic debut against Arsenal, the Estonian should be partnering Lovren at the heart of the defence at Turf Moor.
Left-Back
After another shocking defensive performance in the opening game of the Premier League season for Liverpool, Alberto Moreno is almost certainly destined to be axed from the starting line-up in favour of utility man James Milner.
Defensive Midfielder
Captain Jordan Henderson should be one of the players playing in his familiar defensive midfield role, keeping things ticking with his passes and protecting his backline with his tackles.
Defensive Midfielder
Emre Can could be brought back into the lineup to provide extra cover in the midfield during the counter attacks. The German would be positioning himself in front of the back four teaming up with Henderson as he will look to break down attacks through the middle at every opportunity.
Right Attacking Midfielder/ Right Winger
Roberto Firmino should be deployed as the right sided attacking midfielder against Burnley to provide the attacking threats for the visitors as Sadio Mane remains a doubt with his shoulder injury suffered in training.
Attacking Midfielder
Adam Lallana scored a beautiful goal on Matchday one of the league, he should be filling in as the central attacking midfielder just in behind the striker for the game.
Left Attacking Midfielder/Left Winger
Little magician, Phillipe Coutinho, will be on the pitch at Turf Moor hoping to showcase his breathtaking talent producing some more moments of magic from his familiar position on the left flank, cutting inside the field at every given opportunity to exploit the space in the middle.
Striker
Daniel Sturridge should be returning for the game on Saturday as the striker would look to open his own account for the season against the unconvincing Burnley defence.
