Chelsea seem to have been handed a fairly comfortable match as they look to build on their two back to back wins in the League. The Blues face a Burnley side at home after late victories against West Ham United and Watford. Though Antonio Conte will be pleased with 6 points out of 6, Chelsea’s shortcomings have been clearly noticeable in the 3 matches they have played so far. Having conceded in every match, their depth in attacking reserves has seen them limp across the finishing line with wins. Desperately the short of defensive depth, Chelsea have been busy in the market trying to push through a deal for any one of their defensive targets.
Burnley, on the other hand, are coming on the back of a shock 2-0 victory over Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool side as they sat deep and resolutely kept their compact structure and thereby reduced the much vaunted attackers of Liverpool to feeble long range attempts. And it is evident that their gameplan will be on the same lines as they strive to use the confidence from the previous match to try to collect something from the match. But Chelsea will be a different cup of tea with the likes of Hazard, Willian and Diego Costa on the prowl at Stamford Bridge.
HERE IS THE PREDICTED CHELSEA LINE-UP AGAINST BURNLEY- (4-1-4-1)
DEFENCE
Courtois will be in goal with a familiar look to the back four in front of him. Ivanovic will be at right-back and will hope for a more consistent game. John Terry and Gary Cahill are in line to pair up once again due to the lack of options to rotate. The ever-dependable Azpilicueta will be stationed at the left-back position.
MIDFIELD
N’Golo Kante will be raring to go again in the holding midfield role in front of the back four. He has been decent thus far and his transition into a new team is going smoothly as of now. Cesc Fabregas will be hoping to get a game after his crucial involvement against Watford. While Oscar and Matic will most probably be vying for a spot beside him in midfield.
ATTACK
Eden Hazard is nailed on for the left-wing and it will most probably be Willian on the opposite hand side as he looks to increase his end product this season. Diego Costa will lead the line as Batshuayi will most likely be used as a sub as he continues his transition at a rapid pace.
