Leicester City are coming on the back of a shock defeat at the hands of Hull City at the KCOM Stadium. Managerless Hull, who were pre-season favourites for the drop, showed the power of will and the uncertain nature of football as the eleven players on the pitch gave it their all as they defeated the Champions. Hull took a shock lead as Adama Diomande hit an overhead scissor-kick to open the scoring. But Mahrez equalised shortly after the break as he blasted a penalty into the centre of goal after Ahmed Musa was fouled. The fans were expecting a breakdown from the home side but instead they regrouped and kept on harrying Leicester and did not let them impose themselves on the match. And in the 57th minute Robert Snodgrass volleyed home after a throw by Schmeichel had given away possession to the Tigers.
Ranieri is experienced enough not to switch to the panic mode so early and will look to address the particular areas of concern on the training ground. Vardy looked off the pace and will be look to get his rhythm back. But, summer signing Ahmed Musa impressed hugely and his partnership with Vardy will be key for the Foxes. In a massive boost before the showdown against Arsenal, Gunners target Riyad Mahrez has signed a 4-year extension with Leicester and the team will be buoyed by the development.
DEFENCE
Kasper Schmeichel will take up his position in goal as he looks to further cement his spot in the team. Danny Simpson will be at right-back. Robert Huth missed out with a suspension and Ranieri will have a dilemma on his hands after Hernandez impressed in his absence. Though Huth will be better equipped to deal with the physicality of Giroud in case he returns, Fernandez might be preferred in the face of the pacy attacking players in the Arsenal ranks. Morgan will be the partner of whoever is selected with Fuchs continuing in left-back.
MIDFIELD
Nampalys Mendy might make his debut with Drinkwater as his midfield partner. Mahrez will line up on the right-hand side and look to find his form and focus back after an unsettling summer and pre-season and it will be a toss-up between Gray and Albrighton on the left-side.
ATTACK
Record summer signing Ahmed Musa has been impressive in all his appearances so far and will look to strike up an understanding with Jamie Vardy at the earliest.
